Swimming with the fishes

Thank God I didn't end up sleeping with the fishes as I went through four intense days of underwater exercises and written tests to become a certified diver (I had forgotten how I detest tests). Many of the exercises were done on the ocean floor at around forty feet, including taking off my mask, (which got stuck in my hair), controlling your breathing so you can hover in one spot in a crossed leg pose (I wonder if I dream of Jeannie had to practice that?) and having your air shut off (excuse me but I think I need air to breathe down here!)


It was an amazing experience and when I completed the course, I found myself standing at the front of the boat with my arms stretched out and I think I actually heard Celine Dion singing in the background :). I DID IT!

Although diving in Ko Lanta took place at the end of the island adventures, I was so excited that I had to tell you about it first. So back to the beginning.


The first island we went to was Phuket. The place was a lot like it's name phonetically and hey, if I can't get sex with my massage then Phuket :)



The next place was Ko Phi Phi (pronounced pee pee). Makes you a little nervous what the next island is called doesn't it? Well this made me wonder if I should go in the water at all. Perhaps I should have listened to my intuition because as soon as I entered the water, a fish bit me right on the ass. What did it look like bait? Time to get back to the gym :)

And the final stop was at Ao Nang and Railay with its amazing rock formations and sunsets.







We were so lucky to have had such beautiful weather considering it is monsoon season and it was an experience I will never forget.




Well I just arrived in Vietnam so
